Frequently Asked Questions

The first few months when the child starts visiting nursery school, or if it has missed this period – the first months at school, are crucial not only in psychological aspect but also in terms of child’s morbidity. It stays at home quite often due to fever, cold, cough or general malaise. Parents worry, suffer, feel nervous, and many times fall into despair; they visit the surgery and have their child administer antibiotics and other medications. This kind of health condition of the child is due to the active contacts within the group where children continuously exchange viral and bacterial infections. A single child with viral infection is enough to infect all other children in the group or the class.
Having in mind that all types of stress weaken the immunity, we can easily explain why children are so often sick during this period. Many of them are subject to stress caused by the new environment, new lifestyle, new contacts, and new requirements to them. During this adaptation period, which is quite often characterized by resistance demonstrated by the child, it experiences psychological drama and even “mental stress”. Furthermore, children are still incapable of maintaining their body temperature comfort, i.e. to dress when they are cold, or to undress when they are hot. In other words, they probably feel “cold” or “heat” stress in their everyday life, which also results in worsening their immune-biological status. In case of weakened immune protection, viral and bacterial infections develop easily.
What parents need to do in this case? They should talk with their children with extreme patience and transparency about the new environment in which they spend part of the day. They need to explain and to show them how to protect themselves against cold or overheat. It is very important to help the child to keep its immune protection at an appropriate level. This can be achieved by means of reasonable diet and administration of natural immunostimulants. The author has rich experience with the bloody geranium (geranium sanguineum) root Gerissan syrup that is administered in the morning, before breakfast. The syrup has wild strawberry flavor and sweet taste.  As a preventive measure, children at the age of 1 to 3 years should administer 1 teaspoonful once a day, children at the age of 4 to 8 years – 2 teaspoonfuls, and children at the age of 9 to 11 years – 3 teaspoonfuls. The product is safe and may be administered for years. Upon occurrence of disease, doses may be doubled and even tripled.
Gerissan syrup contains polyphenol compounds that are powerful antioxidants and have the capacity to “block” viruses, thus destroying them more easily. Gerissan syrup stimulates blood generation and is a good medication in case of anemia conditions.
Gerissan syrup is a natural product that has proven immunostimulating effect. Regular administration makes it less probable for the child to catch viral infection, and eventually, if it catches such infection, it takes easier course.
Prevention of diseases is the intelligent approach. Therefore, in the name of your children’s health, always apply preventive measures.
